Enrolment Policy
ENROLMENT FEES
Our school is subsidised by the Ministry of Education, so we are able to offer lessons for the year for only $80 (per class). This is to be paid at enrolment after your tutor has confirmed class times. If a child drops out after the first 2 weeks, no refunds will be available.
AGE OF STUDENTS
The Music School is aimed at Senior Primary and Intermediate aged students. Enrolment places will be prioritised for Yr 5-8 students (9-12 yr olds) in order of age. Where space permits, we can take younger and older students. If you miss out this year, please try another class or try again next year. It is never too late to start to learn music.
ENROLMENT PROCESS
We take enrolments once a year in February. *** In 2026 enrolments will be held online***
Attendance Policy
LESSONS FOR 2026
Lessons commence the week beginning 2nd March 2026
Classes run weekly throughout the terms from March - November. There are no classes during school holidays.
ATTENDANCE
Our funding is dependent on attendance, so regular attendance is essential. Please notify your tutor if you cannot make your lessons for any reason.
END OF YEAR CONCERT
The Music School runs an end of year concert for all students around the middle of November (dates to be confirmed). This is a great opportunity for the children and we encourage everyone to take part.
Instrument Hire Policy
INSTRUMENT HIRE
There are violins, brass instruments, flutes and clarinets are available for hire for $60 per year. All instruments must be returned at the end of the year, or if the student ceases attending lessons. Instrument hire is now part of the online enrolment form. Please look after any hired instruments with great care. In the event of damage or loss of the instrument you will be invoiced for the cost of repair or replacement, so we advise you to have contents insurance in place which can help cover these costs if needed.
YOUR OWN INSTRUMENTS
Generally, students in 2nd and 3rd year of lessons are encouraged to buy their own instruments where possible. Please consult your tutor for advice before purchasing an instrument
Media Policy
Media can play a large role in shaping the future of the school from highlighting student's success to attracting new students. This year the school has introduced a Media Policy. As part of the enrolment process, parents/caregivers can choose from a range of options.

- My child's photo being used on Media - group photos only, no names
- My child's photo being used on Media with agreement only (ie parent shown photo prior)
